Everybody and their dog needs a home page now, right?

I'll do web page design of all sorts, be it personal home pages, photo galleries, on-line shops, professional or corporate web pages needing a Content Management System (CMS). Even for private uses, if you want to update your site often, run a blog or RSS feed from it, it might me judicious to install a CMS - it costs nothing anyway, it just needs a bit more work for the inital layout.

    I'll assist you in clarifying your needs, help you finding a domain name, a web hoster, and do all the administrative work for registration. I also can guide and advice you on the various difficulties that may be associated with your concrete ideas of your web space, so as to simplify and minimize the effort for creating it and maintaining it.
  3. I give you an outline of the work to do and the planning and cost involved
  4. We conclude a first part of a contract
  5. A first test site is set up for us to mutually agree on the changes to be made
  6. I register domain and hoster (if needed)
  7. I put the site on line and you do the buy-off
  8. Quite possibly I continue to be your webmaster
  9. Security updates

Usually I like to put a link to my web site and design reference into the footer of your web page.

Web space security

Security is a constant concern for me. You don't want to become a part of a bot-net or receive spam comments on your site. If you have a simple HTML home page, the chances are slim to be a victim of any nuisance. As soon as there are scripts and script languages (as required for CMS) involved, active security implementation must be done. I have a lot of experience and knowledge in site configuration to prevent any hacking or bogus user registrations. Testing your site for attack resilience is part of my work.

Simplicity

All my web designs are CSS based (you don't need to know waht that is). What it means is, that anybody who can format a document Openoffice.org or MSWord can use nvu or Kompozer to do simple modifications (like changing text) on their webpages, no need for webmaster intervention.
